MKBHD Predicts the Future of the Apple Display Pro at Collision Conf 2023
Before we talk about the Apple Display Pro, I have to say: although the event is called Collision Conf this year, it may as well have been ChatGPT Conf because literally every speaker talked about it.
MKBHD was a surprise last minute speaker at Collision Conf this year.
For the uninitiated, Marques Brownlee aka MKBHD, is a popular American YouTuber and podcaster with 17.1M subscribers and 3.61B total video views. He is best known for creating technology-focused videos and hosting his podcast Waveform.
Here's what he had to say about the future of Apple's recently announced Apple Vision Pro:
It's hilarious from them to go right from "don't look at iPad too close to your face for too long" to "here's a thing you strap to your face".
Yes, two hour battery life but you can plug it into a wall and use it indefinitely, if you want to.
You can watch a movie. You can stay in that thing all day long, but it was heavy. I had it on for half an hour before I took it off and it was relieving. It was pretty weighty. I don't imagine people will wanna spend hours in it.
The vision for the future of this platform is not this big bulky headset. It's what's the iPhone 10 gonna look like, when we're at iPhone 1 now? In 10 years, I think something much lighter, much smaller, potentially transparent and much more easy to use for a long period of time. They want us to get used to wearing it now, so when it's lighter and smaller, we have no problems with it.
P.S. Don't call it a headset.
