This is a Test (And Hopefully Not a Disaster)

March 15, 2025

Alright, folks, let's be honest: "This is a test" sounds about as exciting as watching paint dry. But hey, someone's gotta do it. And that someone is me, your friendly neighborhood developer, willingly volunteering (read: being told) to stress-test our shiny new blogging system. Built with Next.js, no less. Which, in theory, is cool. In practice, it's currently fighting me on image uploads.

Japan

Why are we even doing this? Well, our old blog was, shall we say, "vintage." Like, dial-up modem vintage. So, shiny new toys are needed. Hence, this blog post, a digital sacrifice to the gods of content management.

I'm supposed to be testing features, workflows, and overall usability. Translation: trying to break things and see if the system cries uncle. So far, the text editor seems okay. It hasn't eaten my words yet, which is a definite improvement over that cursed Google Doc from last week (may it rest in peace).

Look, I'm not going to bore you with the technical nitty-gritty. You probably have better things to do, like avoid eye contact with your coworkers in the break room. But, if you're reading this, it means the system somewhat works. The internet's still here. The images probably loaded. (Probably.)

So, yeah. "This is a Test." And if it is a disaster? Well, at least we'll have a good story to tell. (And I'll be updating my resume.) Wish me luck. And maybe refresh this page every few minutes just to make sure the whole thing hasn't imploded. Thanks in advance.
